Visual artist Liisa Ahola (b.1979) lives and works in Turku, in Finland. She works mainly in field of video art. Creating an atmosphere with the rhythm of editing is one of the important tools of her expression. The themes of her works often comes from everyday reflections, which can be personal concerns or broader social phenomena. Arterektum or Artefaktum video is made together with the Visual Artist Janelin Kinnunen. (This version is made by Liisa Ahola 2020). Theme plays with artists ’assumptions about some Finnish animal symbols. It is about how perceptions emercense. The image becomes faith and the belief becomes worldview. “Artefacts'' may become “Arterektum ''.

Why so many are afraid of life in our society? It is said that the fundamental fear is the fear of death but what happens If the safety net becomes the object of fear?
Footage of this video was filmed almost daily for three months in year 2013.
