Inside this cave to be traveled - or that has already been - there are four sound stages: the hole, the excavation, the coldness and the crystal. With the challenge of letting the ears be teased before the eyes, a synthesized, mechanized and scanned line of sounds was built so that, from auditory perception, existing images were reorganized as a question to retinas in the dark: What is the sound of the brain? What is the sound of the stone? What is the sound inside the screen? What is the sound of doubt? Website: www.nicolekouts.com |

Title: "Hostile Sites - Part 2" Year: 2017 Duration: 7'40'' Country of production: www: www.katjaverheul.com Video synopsis: In London important sites and buildings are surrounded by fancy benches and flower pots. Though these sculptural objects are not there just for the eye. The so-called ‘hostile vehicle mitigations’ should protect buildings and sides of potential destructive terrorists attacks. The film focused on several hostile vehicle mitigations in the ring of steel in London, their ‘natural’ habitat and the influence they have on our daily lives. |
Artist name: Alisi Telengut
Title: "Long Live Mountains " Year: 2021 Duration: 00'47'' Country of production: Germany, Canada www: http://alisitelengut.com/ Video synopsis: A short animation is created by animating four framed canvas paintings. They mobilize the idea of an assemblage with the complex arrangement of divergent plants, insects and fragments that link man and nature, the organic and inorganic, to re-imagine an entangled network of an ecosystem. |

Title: (How to) Migrate towards a Future? Year: 2019 Duration: 16'55'' Country of production: Romania & Belgium Video synopsis: "(How to) Migrate towards a Future?" is a video essay that looks to deconstruct the complex issue of economic migration with a special case-study on Romania.Once coming as a natural and evident solution towards social prosperity, economic migration remains a crucial strategy for a great number of Romanians. In the same time, the pinnacles of capitalist consumption are becoming appropriated and reproduced by the mainstream media as a natural universal lifestyle. Romania exports cheap labour force towards Western Europe and imports cheap labour from its eastern neighbors and Asia, abusing the lack of legislation and protection of the latter. |

Title: "Plenitude / Entirety" Year: 2020 Duration: 5'00'' Country of production: Brazil Video synopsis: The abandonment of individuals by societies and their governments is both unjustifiable and unforgivable. The Planet Earth will continue to shelter the Kingdoms of Barbarism and Insanity as long as there is a single human being insisting on not recognizing the integrity of everyone else, near or far from you. A single individual "from below" can implode the entire civilizing process, sucking it to its level and annihilating any efforts to achieve social justice, peace and planetary harmony. There is an urgent need to recognize the fullness, the fragility and the power to add each one and everyone. Nobody is despicable, nobody is harmless, all life is of value. No nation is despicable, no nation is harmless, every nation is of value. No ethnicity is despicable, no ethnicity is harmless, all ethnicity is of value. No people are despicable, no people are harmless, all people are of value.Either we assume, each of us, our responsibility to the whole, taking care to respect it, or we will be much closer to our own extinction than we could imagine. Luiz Gomide, London, April 22, 2020, in the dark days of the pandemic. |
